Cheap & Easy Churro French Toast Sticks

Cinnamon Pepper Sugar
In a small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar (½ cup), ground cinnamon (2 tsp), and finely ground black pepper (1 tsp) until combined. Set aside.
French Toast Sticks
Cut the bread (½ loaf) into 1 inch slices and then cut each slice into 1 inch batons.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs (2 large), sugar (1 Tbsp), and cinnamon (1 ½ tsp). Once combined, whisk in the milk (⅓ cup) until homogenous.
Heat a medium nonstick pan over medium heat and add the butter (1 Tbsp) to melt.
Dip the bread batons into the egg mixture, making sure to coat all sides.
Add the bread to the hot skillet and cook on all sides for about 1 minute per side or until golden brown.
Immediately remove from the pan and toss in the cinnamon pepper sugar (½ cup) to fully coat.
Plate and serve with maple syrup ( to taste).
